What happened
In March 2026, Pier Two Holdings was acquired by BitMine Immersion Technologies, a US-listed digital asset treasury company, and became part of BitMine's Made in America Validator Network, or MAVAN.
Pier Two is an Australian-founded institutional staking and blockchain infrastructure provider. Its integration into MAVAN brings its staking expertise and infrastructure into a much larger global platform focused on institutional digital asset services.
Why it matters
The acquisition represents a significant step in Pier Two's evolution from an Australian infrastructure provider into part of a global institutional staking platform.
It also demonstrates the increasing institutionalisation of digital asset infrastructure. Staking, validator services and blockchain infrastructure are increasingly being built for sophisticated counterparties that expect stronger governance, operational resilience and regulated financial services around them.
For Australian businesses operating in these markets, having the right regulatory framework in place can become increasingly important as they scale, attract institutional customers and participate in global markets.
TAF's role
Pier Two Pty Ltd operates as a Corporate Authorised Representative of TAF Capital under AFSL 425925.
Through that relationship, TAF provides the regulated AFSL framework for the financial services Pier Two is authorised to conduct, together with the oversight and accountability that sit behind that framework.
Pier Two's growth and subsequent acquisition by BitMine provides a strong example of the type of sophisticated digital infrastructure business that can operate within TAF's regulated ecosystem.
For TAF, the milestone demonstrates the broader role its infrastructure can play: providing Australian businesses with an established regulatory foundation while allowing specialist operators to focus on building, scaling and competing internationally.
